The Credit Union was awarded three 2022 Diamond Awards by the Credit Union National Association Marketing and Business Development Council for their RETURN THE FAVOR Giving Campaign, In Common eNewsletter, and Common Insights for Business eNewsletter. And the RETURN THE FAVOR campaign and In Common eNewsletter won for “Best in Category,” which is the most prestigious award an organization can receive in each category entered.

“I’m very proud of our marketing team for their efforts that typically go unsung,” stated Beth Carr, President/CEO of SCCCU. “If a credit union wins one Diamond Award, it’s a huge honor, and we won three. But to win two ‘Best in Category’ awards is mind-blowing for us. Again, we’re so proud and honored to receive such prestigious recognition for our Credit Union.”

“Our RETURN THE FAVOR campaign is one of the most rewarding projects we work on each year. We are honored to be recognized for our work to support our community and our members’ financial wellness every day,” stated Katie Fairbairn, VP of Communication & Organizational Development.

“Our Board of Directors should be applauded for coming up with the idea to give back to local non-profits during the first six months of the pandemic,” stated Carr. “That’s really how we began the idea of RETURN THE FAVOR, and since then, it’s been a great way to give back and help those most vulnerable in our community.”

The Diamond Awards, representing the pinnacle of credit union marketing and business development, honor credit unions in 35 categories, ranging from direct mail to website marketing to public relations to social media. Judges evaluated entries based on strategy, design, production, creative concept, copy, communication, and results. This year’s Diamond Awards competition received 1,195 entries, and 163 winners were announced on March 11, 2022, in Los Angeles, California. Of the 163 winners, only 15 awards were bestowed upon California credit unions, three of which were won by SCCCU.
