The Friends of Watsonville Parks and Community Services honored the Credit Union as Business of the Year at the 19th Annual Cesar Chavez Awards on Tuesday, March 30.
The event was held virtually and featured appearances from Watsonville Mayor Jimmy Dutra and State Assemblymember Robert Rivas, the representative for California’s 30th District.
People and organizations were nominated for the awards by the community, and winners were selected by The Friends of Watsonville Parks and Community Services Board of Directors.
The Credit Union was honored for the community development initiatives done for the young people in Watsonville, such as: a High School Financial Scholars Program (a six-week online course that teaches students the basics of personal finances), the Youth N.O.W., Watsonville Wetlands Watch, the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and Digital NEST.
We're grateful for our continued relationship with The Friends of Watsonville Parks and Community Services and look forward to continuing in our efforts throughout 2021.
