We recently learned of third-party companies across California who are attempting to take advantage of small businesses applying for the latest Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans. These scammers offer to fill out the loan/grant application for an upfront fee on the behalf of a small business owner, and then ask for a percentage of the PPP funds as well. We want to remind you there is no fee to apply for a federal PPP loan.
SCCCU has worked with many small business owners in our community to help them receive PPP loans throughout 2020, and continue to do so in 2021.
Be sure you use the correct application to apply:
Once you've reviewed the application and prepared the necessary documentation for your loan, you MUST
submit everything through our PPP Online Application Portal
to begin the application process. Remember, these loans are granted on a first-come-first-serve basis, so it's an excellent idea to apply as soon as possible. The application deadline is March 31, 2021.
