Foreclosure Prevention

Let’s talk before a missed payment becomes a bigger problem.

If you’re struggling to make your mortgage payment, or you’re concerned that a change in your finances could make future payments difficult, we want to hear from you.

We’re committed to working with members experiencing financial hardship. Through our Financial Refresh program, we can review your individual circumstances and help you understand what foreclosure-prevention options may be available.

You don’t have to wait until you’ve missed a payment. Call or email us today.

What Will I Need to Provide?

To fully understand your financial situation and determine what options may be available, we may ask you to provide documentation such as:

  • A completed Financial Refresh Home Loan application.
  • A brief explanation of your financial hardship and when it began
  • Proof of income, such as recent pay stubs, tax returns and W-2s
  • Recent bank, investment, retirement and mortgage statements
  • Information about other monthly debts and financial obligations
  • If your home is listed for sale, the listing agreement, asking price and information about any current purchase offers

Additional documentation may be required depending on your circumstances.

Don’t wait until you have every document ready to contact us. Starting the conversation early can help us better understand your situation and identify the appropriate next steps.

What Happens Next?

Once we receive the information needed to evaluate your request, we’ll review your financial situation and determine which options, if any, may be available.

The right solution will depend on your individual circumstances, your mortgage, and program eligibility. Not every option is available to every borrower, and assistance is not guaranteed.

Throughout the process, our goal is to make sure you understand your options and what happens next.

Free Housing Counseling Is Also Available

You don’t have to navigate mortgage difficulties alone. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) can help you locate a HUD-approved housing counseling agency, which can provide independent guidance about foreclosure prevention and your available options:
HUD Housing Counseling: 800-569-4287
TY/TDD: 800-877-8339
