SCCCU Wins Two National Marketing Awards
Santa Cruz Community Credit Union was among 168 credit unions nationwide named as winners of two prestigious Diamond Awards at the Marketing & Business Development Council’s annual marketing excellence competition.
The Credit Union received awards for the Passport to Financial Freedom Financial Literacy Program and the “Your New Sleigh Awaits” Auto Loan Campaign. The Passport to Financial Freedom Financial Literacy Program is a free eight-week program focusing on essential financial information for teens and young adults and launched in March 2023 at the Juvenile Detention Center in Santa Cruz. Additionally, the auto loan campaign was designed to help members get a low-rate loan and included a special sweepstakes offer to make the first loan payment for one lucky winner.
“We’re thrilled to be recognized nationally for the work we’re doing in Santa Cruz County,” stated Katie Fairbairn, Chief Experience Officer. “We design marketing campaigns and programs with our mission in mind and try to reach not only our members but those in our community who may be underserved or unbanked. What an honor it is to receive these awards!”
The Marketing & Business Development Council of America’s Credit Unions also announced the list of all winners for its annual Diamond Awards, recognizing the best marketing campaigns in the credit union industry from the past year. Credit unions, advertising agencies, and associations submitted a record 1,451 submissions for the prestigious awards. In all, 168 organizations from 44 states and the District of Columbia were selected as winners.
“We are delighted to honor Santa Cruz Community Credit Union and the other 167 winners with this level of recognition,” said Lesli Bishop, Diamond Awards chair and Chief Marketing Officer at Family Savings Credit Union in Gadsden, Alabama. “It’s evident that these credit unions not only embody the spirit of the credit union movement but also propel it forward with their innovative approaches.”
