We are pleased to announce that the Credit Union has hired two new Community Development Outreach Managers for the Santa Cruz and Watsonville communities—Michael Martinez and Alicia Green.

“We’re honored to have these two exceptional professionals join our team and know they will further our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion; and contribute in many ways to help our members and community partners,” stated Katie Fairbairn, Vice President of Communications Organizational Development.

Michael Martinez, Community Outreach Marketing Manager, is responsible for developing community outreach programs focused on the underserved and unbanked in Watsonville and Pajaro Valley. Born and raised in Watsonville and a proud graduate of Watsonville High School (Go Willy!), he comes to the Credit Union with over seven years of experience in the financial industry. Michael is an active volunteer in Santa Cruz County and passionately believes in providing opportunities for people to succeed in obtaining financial freedom.

Alicia Green, Community Engagement & Learning Manager, will play a vital role in building the Credit Union’s community financial literacy program, focusing specifically on helping members save and borrow money effectively. Additionally, she will implement internal training programs to enhance SCCCU staff knowledge and will provide exceptional financial guidance to members no matter what questions they may have. Alicia has over 15 years of experience in marketing, communications, and training. She looks forward to helping members and clients of local non-profits gain the educational insights needed to be financially independent.

Santa Cruz Community Credit Union was founded in 1977 by a group of dedicated citizens who wanted everyone in the community to have access to financial services.
