SCCCU Wins Three Coveted Gold National Marketing Awards
The Credit Union's Marketing team recently won three prestigious Gold Awards at the Marketing Association of Credit Unions (MAC) 2024 MAC Awards. These awards recognize the most impactful and creative credit union marketing projects and campaigns nationwide.
This year's ceremony, held at the annual MAC Conference, was a night to celebrate the power of innovative marketing in credit union success. A distinguished panel of judges meticulously evaluated a record-breaking 447 entries from over 100 credit unions, selecting winners based on their creativity, strategic effectiveness, and overall impact.
We received awards for the Passport to Financial Freedom Financial Literacy Program and its logo, as well as the “Your New Sleigh Awaits” Auto Loan Campaign. The Passport to Financial Freedom Financial Literacy Program is a free eight-week program focusing on essential financial information for teens and young adults and launched in March 2023 at the Juvenile Detention Center in Santa Cruz. Additionally, the auto loan campaign was designed to help members get a low-rate loan and included a special sweepstakes offer to make the first loan payment for one lucky winner.
“We’re thrilled to be recognized nationally for the work we’re doing in Santa Cruz County,” stated Katie Fairbairn, Chief Administrative Officer/Executive Vice President. “We design marketing campaigns and programs with our mission in mind and try to reach not only our members but those in our community who may be underserved or unbanked. What an honor it is to receive these awards!”

The Marketing Association of Credit Unions (MAC) was created in 1986 by Marketers for Marketers and is dedicated to supporting and advancing credit unions' marketing and communications efforts. Through educational programs, networking opportunities, and recognition of excellence, MAC strives to enhance the effectiveness of its members and promote the credit union difference.
